Superman And Look Alikes – Which Super Hero Do You Want To Look Like?

by Yo Snyder

2 Corinthians 3:18 “And we all, who with unveiled faces
contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed
into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is
the Spirit.” Okay, this is taking fandom a bit too far. A man from the
Philippines has undergone plastic surgery to help him look like Superman. He’s
had surgery done on his lips, cheeks, nose and chin, and he’s had injections to
help whiten his skin. He’s planning on getting more surgery done to get more
muscular abs (apparently he’s not interested in doing sit-ups), and he’s even
going to Japan for a special surgery that will put metal in his legs to make
him taller; all just to look more like Superman. While we don’t need beards or
to wear robes or anything like that, you and I also need to look more and more
like our favorite hero; Jesus Christ. The good news is this doesn’t anything to
do with what’s on the outside, but everything to do with what’s on the inside.
What made Jesus special wasn’t so much what he looked like, but who he was. He
drew people to him not because of his appearance, but because of his love, his
grace, his compassion, his authority and so much more. To look like Christ we
need more of his character and his qualities shinning through in all we do, and
in order to do that, we don’t plastic surgery; we just need to spend some
quality time with him in his word and in prayer. It’s much cheaper and less
painful than trying to re-sculpt your body to only change the outward
