Battlefield 3 – Community Game Night, October 28

by Yo Snyder

[Update]

All right, Battlefield fans. Battlefield 3 is here and it’s awesome, and we raring to play some
multiplayer online with everyone with the Xbox 360 version of the game.
However, since the game doesn’t have any private match settings as of yet (at
least not that we’ve discovered, although I hear the PC version does and
supposedly it’s coming to consoles later), here’s our plan for the BF3
Community Game Night; it’s not a perfect plan, but we’re doing our best. We’ll
get officially started tomorrow night (Oct. 28) at 2000 hrs (it’s only fitting to
use military time for a war game) on Xbox Live. Stevo and I will get some games
started by searching for and joining servers without many players on them
(hopefully). When you see us in a game, try to join us. If it’s full and you
can wait, jump in when a slot opens (we got up to eight people playing together
the other night doing this). However, if you don’t want to wait, go ahead and
join a game of your own and chat with us in our Xbox Live parties to be a part
of the fun. We’ll pass out prizes during our official game session from 2000 to
2100 hrs, but we’ll also check Battlelog the next morning and pass out some
more prizes based on what we see there. For a chance to win, just log in to
your Battlelog account at battlefield.battlelog.com (don’t worry, it’s free)
and send us friend invites (same tag for me, batyo, and halos15 for Stevo). And
while you’re there, join our Platoon; the Five-Oh-Five. We’ll check the stats
and share some prizes.

Now, you’re probably wondering what’s up for grabs. Well, we
have some Static Radio T-shirts to pass out, an autographed Blindside CD, some
We Are Leo CDs, a couple Robbie Seay band CDs, a couple of comic packs courtesy
of Astro-Zombies including Batman #1
and 2 as well as Detective Comics #1
and 2, a copy of Dumbo on Blu-Ray
courtesy of Disney and Grace Hill Media, and the new Veggietales Christmas DVD The Little Drummer Boy courtesy of Big
Idea Productions. Whew, that’s a lot of stuff to give away in the heat of
battle, hence why we’ll just pass some of it out via Battlelog. Watch The Guide’s Facebook and Twitter for more updates, and we’ll see you on the battlefield.

So, Battlefield 3 releases Tuesday, October 25. I know many of
you have tried the beta and are looking forward to the full game; and so
are we. So we decided, why wait. Let’s plan another community game
night now. So, that’s what we’re going to do. Join the guys from KNKT,
Static Radio and The Guide for some Battlefield 3 destructive fun on
Friday, October 28th at 8pm. We’ll play some Conquest, and who knows,
perhaps we’ll get enough players to have our own private war? Again,
this is going to be on the Xbox 360 version of the game, because…well,
we don’t have PS3s (but hey, help The Guide become a success and
hopefully we’ll get funding for more gear so we can do more with you).
Just look for our gamer tags – Yo is batyo and Stevo is sTeVo j (case sesnsitive). As always, we’ll have some cool stuff to give away on an arbitrary basis
to whomever we feel like, so don’t worry if you’re not a crack shot,
neither is Yo and you’ll still have a chance to win. Hope to see Friday
night as we go to war with Battlefield 3. Like us on Facebook so you can keep up with any updates, or you can also follow us on Twitter to do the same.
